Hampshire Royals skipper Dominic Cork has won the and elected to bowl first against the Essex Eagles in the first of today’s Friends Provident t20 Semi Finals.

Unsurprisingly, with overcast conditions at the Rose Bowl; Cork didn’t hesitate in bowling first and they will be looking to out the Eagles under pressure early on.

Despite heavy rain over night the first semi final will get under way on time even though the toss was delayed because of light drizzle just after 11am.

Although the game will get under way on time the outfield is damp and the umpires remain concerned about the condition of the pitch with three games due to be played.
