The Gloucestershire Gladiators have announced the signing of Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan who will join the county ahead of this summers Friends Provident t20 tournament.
The 38 year old, who retires from international cricket after this month’s World Cup, will play for the Gladiators in the next two tournaments.
"This is an exciting and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work and play with one of the greatest cricketers in the history of the game," said Director of Cricket John Bracewell.
"Whenever I have watched Murali he has always had and shown an infectious love for the game of cricket. This is something that I personally am looking forward to working with," he added.
The world’s leading wicket taker will join up with his teammates at the start if June after playing in the Indian Premier League for his new team, Kochi.
