Lancashire Lightning skipper Glen Chapple scrambled two runs from the final delivery of the match to tie a thrilling game against the Derbyshire Falcons at the County Ground in Derby.
With the game edging towards a dramatic ending Tim Groenewald struck twice in the final over to remove Paul Horton (20) and Jordan Clark (19) after the visitors needed just seven runs from the final six deliveries.
Faced with a mammoth run chase of 191, Stephen Moore and Tom Smith got the Lightning’s replay off to a perfect start thanks to an opening stand of 95 which came from just 59 deliveries.
The partnership was broken by Greg Smith at the end of the 10th over after he trapped Smith (33) LBW to end the visitors impressive start.
Steven Croft (26) quickly followed before Moore’s (72) blitz was brought to an end by Steffan Jones in the 16th over to leave the Lightning needing 56 runs from 27 deliveries.
Gareth Cross (7) was soon dismissed before Horton and Clark set up a tense finish.
Having been put into bat, Wes Durston (86) smashed eight boundaries and two sixes from just 58 deliveries to lead the Falcons charge; Chesney Hughes enjoyed a cameo 65 which included five boundaries and fours sixes to help the home side reach 190-5.
