William Porterfield hit his second half century in the space of 24 hours to help the Warwickshire Bears secure a five wicket victory over Yorkshire Carnegie at Headingley.
The Irishman continued his excellent form smashing 10 boundaries to register another half century to help the Bears make it two wins of the trot to start the Friends Life t20 in excellent form.
Porterfield led the way with a quick fire 64 to get the Bears run chase off to the perfect start before he was dismissed by Adil Rashid in the 13th over.
Despite the loss Rikki Clarke (21) and Tim Ambrose (26) shared a 5th wicket stand of 42 to help the Bears chase down Yorkshire’s total of 161-8 with 13 balls to spare.
Having been put into bat, Yorkshire got off to a great start thanks to Andrew Gale (54), Adam Lyth (33) and Anthony McGrath (28) to put the home side on top.
Despite starting well Yorkshire suffered a middle order collapse which saw them loss their last five wickets with the additional of just 31 runs.
