Adam Voges smashed a quick fire half century to help the Nottinghamshire Outlaws cruise to a 53 run victory over Yorkshire Carnegie at Trent Bridge.

The Australian smashed 10 boundaries and one six during his 46 ball innings of 74 to help the Outlaws post an imposing total of 215-6.

Samit Patel (52), Chris Read (34) and David Hussey (28) all played significant roles after Alex Hales (10) and Riki Wessels (4) had been removed inside the opening 4 overs.

Faced with a mammoth run chase the visitors slumped to a heavy defeat despite Jonny Bairstow (31) and Adam Lyth (43) helping Yorkshire reach 114-2 in the 13th over.

With the pair back in the dug out the visitors suffered a middle order batting collapse which saw them end the game 162-8 after Ryan Sidebottom and David Wainwright (6) share a 9th wicket stand of 17.
