Sharks make light work of the Gladiators

The Sussex Sharks cruised to a 7 wicket victory over a disappointing Gloucestershire Gladiators in a one sided clash at the County Ground in Bristol.

Faced with a run chase of only 98, the Sharks completed victory with 15 balls to spare in a rain shortened game which saw both teams’ innings reduced by three overs.

Lou Vincent (31) and Murray Goodwin (27) led the way as the Sharks made it two wins out of two to start their Friends Life t20 campaign in style.

The Gladiators meanwhile will be left to reflect on another disappointing performance which saw them reduced to a total of just 97-7 from their 17 overs.

Chris Taylor (25) and Hamish Marshall (16) started the Gladiators innings of brightly but the Sharks kept the pressure on the home side thanks to impressive bowling displays from Month Panesar (14-3), Naved-uk-Hasan (18-2) and Michael Yardy (22-2).
