The Worcestershire Royals sealed a comprehensive seven wicket victory over the Northamptonshire Steelbacks at New Road in Worcester to record their first victory in this years tournament.
Faced with a run chase of 135, Moeen Ali (53) and Alexei Kervezze (44) put the Royals in charge with a 2nd wicket stand of 85 after Vikram Solanki (6) was dismissed by Jack Brooks in the 4th over.
Despite the loss of Ali and Shakib Al Hasan (0) at the start of the 14th over, Kervezze and Gareth Andrew (21) completed an easy win with 12 balls to spare.
Having batted first, the Steelbacks were saved by Alex Wakely who smashed 62 runs from just 45 deliveries to help the visitors record a total of 134-9.
The visitors suffered a torrid time with the bat with only Wakely, Stephen Peters (22) and Andrew Hall (14) troubling the bowlers.
