The Northamptonshire Steelbacks troubles in the Friends Life t20 continued at the County Ground in Northampton after they slumped to a six wicket defeat against the Warwickshire Bears.
The County Championship Division Two leaders were restricted to a total of just 96 which was easily chased down by the Bears with an over to spare as the visitors slowly cruised to victory.
Having been put into bat, the Steelbacks suffered a torrid time; slumping to a total of just 48-6 before Johan Botha (28) and David Murphy (20) led a lower order recovery to leave the Bears facing a run chase of 97.
Jeetan Patel (19-3) and Chris Woakes (15-2) led the Bears attack to leave the visitors with the simple task of chasing down the Steelbacks small total which was easily achieved by the visitors.
Varun Chopra (34), Darren Maddy (25) and William Porterfield (20) led the way as the Bears cruised to victory to streghten their hopes of securing a place in the Friends Life t20 quarter finals.
