Bears hopes washed away at Edgbaston

Harjit Mehat | cricket20

The Warwickshire Bears Friends Life t20 clash against Yorkshire Carnegie has been abandoned with just 18 overs of play possible at a very wet Edgbaston.

Play got under way on time and although Jim Troughton (49) and William Porterfield (34) had put the Bears into a good position play was halted in the 18th over with the Bears 138-5.

With heavy rain continuing to fall play was abandoned by the umpires at 20.05 after an inspection of the very wet outfield.

With no more play possible both teams are awarded one point.
