The Leicestershire Foxes strengthened their hopes of securing a place in the Friends Life t20 quarter final thanks to a 19 run victory over the Worcestershire Royals at Grace Road.
Faced with a victory target of 152 the Royals came up just short despite a middle order fight back from James Cameron (36) and Daryl Mitchell (23) after the visitors lost three quick wickets at the start of their run chase.
Vikram Solanki (8), Alexei Kervezee (2) and Shakib Al Hasan (9) quickly departed before Moeen Ali (32) and Cameron built a 4th wicket stand of 47 before Ali was dismissed by Joshua Cobb.
Cameron quickly followed before Mitchell tried to steer the tail towards an unlikely victory which proved to be just out of the reach of the visitors.
Having batted first the Foxes recorded a total of 151-8 thanks in part to a quick fire 44 from skipper Paul Nixon after Saeed Ajmal (31-3) tore through the Foxes middle order.
Cobb (30) and Abdul Razzaq (20) added valuable runs to help the Foxes secure their 4th victory in this years tournament.
