The Worcestershire Royals cruised to a 41 run victory over Yorkshire Carnegie to keep their hopes of a place in the Friends Life t20 quarter finals alive at New Road in Worcester.
Faced with a victory target of 184, Yorkshire slumped to a total of just 142 as they recorded their 4th defeat in this tournament to leave the chances of securing a play off spot hanging by a thread.
Faced with a tricky run chase, Yorkshire never really got their innings going with wickets falling at regular intervals as the visitors failed to trouble the Royals score.
Joe Root (26) and Tim Bresnan (25) offered some resistant but it wasn’t enough to stop the visitors slumping to a comprehensive defeat at New Road.
Having batted first the Royals recorded a total of 183-7 thanks to Alexei Kervezee (56) and James Cameron (55) who smashed quick fire half centuries.
Moeen Ali (40) offered support to help the Royals set Yorkshire a run chase of 184 which proved to hard to chase down for the visitors.
