Impressive Outlaws cruise to 53 run victory

The Nottinghamshire Outlaws cruised to a 53 run victory over the Lancashire Lightning as they maintained top spot in the Northern group in a one sided game at Trent Bridge.

Faced with a victory target of 185 the Lightning slumped to a total of just 131 as they recorded their 5th defeat in this years Friends Life t20.

Steven Croft (55) led the way with a quick fire half century but with wickets falling at regular intervals the visitors slumped to a comprehensive defeat to leave their chances of securing a play off spot hanging by a thread.

Having batted first the Outlaws recorded a total of 184-4 thanks to Riki Wessels (76) and Andrew Hales (60) who shared an opening stand of 85 to get the innings of to the perfect start.

Adam Voges (17) and Scott Elstone (12) enjoyed useful cameos to help the Outlaws set the Lightning a run chase of 185 which proved to hard to chase down for the visitors.
