The Leicestershire Foxes cruised to a 8 wicket victory over Yorkshire Carnegie to strengthen their chances of securing a place in the Friends Life t20 quarter finals.
Faced with a run chase of 145 the Foxes made light work of the visitor’s total, cruising to victory with 22 deliveries to spare on a sunny evening at Grace Road.
Andrew McDonald (59) led the way with an impressive half century as the Australian showed how easy it was to bat on a pitch which the visitors struggled on.
Joshua Cobb (46) and James Taylor (33) offered support to help the Foxes record their 5th victory in this years tournament which see’s them move six points clear of the 5th place Lancashire Lightning in the North group.
Having batted first, Yorkshire recorded a total of 144 thanks in no small part to skipper, Andrew Gale (67) who led the way with a vital half century.
Ajmal Shahzad (20) offered support but the visitors struggled on a perfect batting wicket against Harry Gurney (26-3) and McDonald (18-3) who bowled brilliant to restrict Yorkshire.
