Australian all rounder Andrew McDonald stared with the bat and ball once against to help the Leicestershire Foxes complete a six wicket victory over the lowly Northamptonshire Steelbacks at Grace Road.
Having picked up three wickets during the Steelbacks innings, McDonald played an anchor role during the Foxes innings to remain unbeaten at the end of the match having scored 38 runs.
Will Jefferson offered the fireworks thanks to a quick fire 41 from just 21 balls which included five sixes to help the Foxes complete victory with 13 deliveries to spare.
The Steelbacks lacklustre tournament continued after they were restricted to a total of just 130-9 despite Bilal Shafayat (28) and Naill O’Brien (23) having helped the visitors reach 86-3 after 13 overs.
Harry Gurney (25-3) and Andrew McDonald (26-3) starred with the ball once again as the Foxes gained the momentum during the second half of the Steelbacks innings as the visitor’s experienced middle order failed to fire.
