A half century from Ian Blackwell helped the Durham Dynamos complete an 28 run victory over the Worcestershire Royals to strengthen their chances of reaching the Friends Life t20 quarter finals.
The former England international smashed six boundaries and 4 sixes to help the Dynamos record a total of 161-6 after they had lost Phil Mustard (0) from just the second ball of the innings after he was bowled by Jack Shantry.
Paul Collingwood (29) and Dale Benkenstien (22) offered support to help the Dynamos complete their 5th victory which see’s them move up into 4th place as the race to the final place in the quarter finals heats up.
Faced with a victory target of 162 the Royals came up just short after they failed to recover from a middle order batting collapse which saw Collingwood (16-4) pick up four wickets to leave the visitors 92-6.
Despite losing the Royals remain in 3rd place in the Northern group and with three games to go the visitors will still feel confident of reaching the quarter finals.
