A rapid half century from Andrew McDonald helped the Leicestershire Foxes cruise to a comprehensive 18 run Duckworth Lewis victory over Yorkshire Carnegie in a one sided game at Headingley.
The Australian smashed nine boundaries and three sixes to end the innings 96 not out to help the Foxes seal their first quarter final appearance since they won the tournament for the second time in 2006.
Will Jefferson (28) and Joshua Cobb (26) offered support as they helped the Foxes record a total of 191-4 despite a delay of about 25 minutes when the players were forced off the pitch because of rain.
Faced with a tricky run chase, the hosts never really troubled the Foxes despite five batsman recording totals of 20 plus; but with nobody pushing on in a similar fashion to McDonald, Yorkshire came up 18 runs short.
Joe Sayers (27) and Jonny Bairstow (25) led the run chase but any hopes the hosts had of mounting a serious challenge where ended by Jigar Naik (3-3) who picked up three wickets in the space of four deliveries in the 16th over to leave Yorkshire 147-8.
