The Sussex Sharks will be looking to end the Friends Life t20 group stages with a victory against the Surrey Lions in front of a packed house at the County Ground in Hove.
The 2009 champions can secure a place in the quarter finals with a victory against the Lions; should they loss, the Sharks can still qualify if the Essex Eagles narrowly beat the Kent Spitfires.
With so much riding on the game including a home quarter final, Sharks bowler Chris Liddle feels a victory tonight will help the hosts gain the momentum needed to make it through to the Finals day at the end of August.
“It's going to be a big game. We're excited about it as we've got ourselves in a decent position. We like playing at Hove with the crowd behind us. We very much want to make it all the way to finals day," said Liddle to the BBC Sussex.
"There are really good players and teams in our group so we're looking to end on a high with a win. That would put us in good stead for the quarter-finals and if we can get a home tie that would be fantastic," he added.
Having missed out on a chance to seal a quarter final place last night, the Lions will be looking to spoil the Sharks party with a victory at Hove which will see them secure a top four finish.
