The Worcestershire Royals hopes of reaching the Friends Life t20 quarter finals were ended by the Nottinghamshire Outlaws who cruised to a 25 run victory at Trent Bridge.

Despite reducing the Outlaws to just 35-3 in the 5th over, the Royals were unable to build on their advantage as the hosts slowly turned the game around to deny the Royals a place in the quarter finals.

Having been reduced to just 35-3, Tamin Iqbal (55), Steven Mullaney (35) and Riki Wessels (35) led the Outlaws recover to help the hosts record a total of 167-6.

In reply the Royals were reduced to just 36-4 and although Daryl Mitchell (45) offered some resistant’s the Royals quarter final dream was ended by a ruthless Outlaws team which recorded their 11th victory to ended the group stages in first place.
