


The Worcestershire Royals hopes of reaching the Friends Life t20 quarter finals were ended by the Nottinghamshire Outlaws who cruised to a 25 run victory at Trent Bridge.
Despite reducing the Outlaws to just 35-3 in the 5th over, the Royals were unable to build on their advantage as the hosts slowly turned the game around to deny the Royals a place in the quarter finals.
The defeat means the Durham Dynamos remain in fourth place and seal the final quarter final place in the Northern group after their 97 run victory over the Northamptonshire Steelbacks last night.
Having been reduced to just 35-3, Tamin Iqbal (55), Steven Mullaney (35) and Riki Wessels (35) led the Outlaws recover to help the hosts record a total of 167-6.
In reply the Royals were reduced to just 36-4 and although Daryl Mitchell (45) offered some resistant’s the Royals quarter final dream was ended by a ruthless Outlaws team which recorded their 11th victory to ended the group stages in first place.
