The Lancashire Lightning ended their group campaign with a crushing 64 run victory over the lowly Northamptonshire Steelbacks at Old Trafford.
Despite having their innings interrupted by rain, the Lightning recorded an impressive total of 188-5 thanks in part to Stephen Moore (41), Karl Brown (51) and Steven Croft (51) who got the hosts off to a fantastic start.
The Steelbacks, who were bowled out for just 47, the lowest total in the history of the tournament, faired somewhat better with the bat tonight despite being restricted to a total of just 124-7.
Alex Wakely (28) led the way but the Steelbacks disappointing campaign was finally ended as they slipped top their 11th defeat to end the tournament rooted to the bottom of the North group.
The Lightning meanwhile will now plan for their trip down to Hove to take on the Sussex Sharks at the County Ground in the Friends Life t20 quarter finals.
