


The Essex Eagles survived a late scare to record a six run victory against the Middlesex Panthers in a thrilling match which came down to the wire at Lords.
Having posted a total of 155-6 the Eagles looked on course for victory after they had reduced the home side to a total of just 88-7 before the Panthers mounted a late comeback.
Gareth Berg (39) and Ollie Rayner (39) lead the recovery but the Eagles held their nerve to record their second victory in the space of 24 hours after restricting the Panthers to a total of 149-6.
The nights other match between the Warwickshire Bears and the Somerset Sabres was abandoned in the 8th over after heavy rain halted the Sabres innings with the score 59-1.
