Essex County Cricket Club are gearing up for their first appearance in Twenty20 Cup Finals Day this Saturday.
The Essex Eagles join Leicestershire Foxes, Surrey Brown Caps and Nottinghamshire Outlaws in the showpiece event of the county season at Trent Bridge.
Captain Ronnie Irani leads his side out on Finals Day for the first time aiming to build on last year's totesport League triumph with another one-day trophy.
Irani said: "I'm really looking forward to our big day out at Trent Bridge. We'll make our way up to Nottingham on Friday and enjoy the occasion. Hopefully we'll have some good support on the day and those watching at home on TV will also be egging us on."
Batting Coach Graham Gooch and Chief Executive David East were both part of the Essex squad during its golden era during the 1980s and are hoping to watch the continuation of a new period of success for the Club:
Graham Gooch: "I think we have as good a chance as anyone. Leicestershire and Surrey have been there every year in the finals and this is our first experience but the way we've been playing we have nothing to fear."
