Reigning champions Surrey showed they retain all their zeal for the Twenty20 Cup with a 100-run win over Sussex.
The visitors posted a formidable 221-8 after losing the toss, with Mark Ramprakash (46 off 31 balls) and Ali Brown (45 off 25) showing the way.
Sussex's openers got off to a decent start as Matthew Prior struck 35 off 25 balls and Ian Ward 20 off 11 balls.
But they lost their last nine wickets for 45 runs to be bowled out for 121, with Adam Hollioake returning 4-14.
