| Sussex v Middlesex
Rain forced the abandonment of the Twenty20 clash between Sussex Sharks and Middlesex Crusaders at Hove after only seven overs had been bowled.
Both sides had to settle for a single point as Middlesex had reached 56 for one after winning the toss.
Owais Shah, Middlesex's top scorer in the competition, took his tally to 355 by firing an unbeaten 30.
A crowd of 4,000 had gathered for the floodlit game, and the match was originally reduced to 18 overs a side, later being adjusted to 13 following a rain interruption.
The no result puts Middlesex, second in the South group, on nine points with one game remaining.
Sussex now have six points and their hopes of clinching a place in the knockout stages rest on their final two games against Kent and Surrey.
Sharks gave a belated debut to Pakistani pace man Rana Naved, who came into the side in place of Johan van der Wath.
Rana, fit again following a thumb injury sustained on international duty with Pakistan in the Caribbean, took the new ball from the sea end and conceded 15 in his third over.
Shah went on the attack to twice hammer the 27-year-old to the mid-wicket boundary and also profited from a neat leg glance to the fence.
Sussex broke through to take their only wicket in the following over when Ed Smith drove at a delivery from James Kirtley and was caught behind for 17.
Sussex drafted off-spinner Mark Davis into the attack as the game continued briefly in heavy rain and Shah greeted him with a huge six over mid-wicket before the first stoppage.
But only three deliveries were possible when play restarted at 8pm, with Middlesex adding four more runs before the rain returned to force the abandonment of the game.
