Essex v Kent

Andy Flower's unbeaten 46 was the cornerstone of a 29-run victory for Essex over Kent in the rain-affected Twenty-20 Cup clash at Chelmsford.
Flower hit eight fours and a six in his 29-ball innings, and Ravinder Bopara added three fours and a six in 30 from 18 as Essex made 132-6 from 12 overs.
In reply, paceman Tony Palladino removed Martin van Jaarsveld and Darren Stevens for ducks in his first over.
Rob Key hit a four and a six in 15 from seven balls but Kent were well short.
Flower hit a series of punishing drives, combined with some audacious reverse sweeps, to dig Essex out of trouble after both openers fell within the first five balls of the innings.
Ronnie Irani gave a straightforward catch to mid-on and James Middlebrook was run out attempting a single, but with Flower and Bopara in command, 103 came from the final seven overs.
