Lancashire v Derbyshire

Brad Hodge starred with bat and ball as Lancashire secured a convincing 66-run win over Derbyshire in the Twenty20 Cup tonight.
Hodge top-scored with 44 and then took four for 19 as the Lightning shot out the Phantoms for 98 at Old Trafford to claim top spot in the north group.
The Australian’s runs came from 44 balls and included five fours and a six. Dominic Cork contributed by hitting two sixes in his 28 as Lancashire posted 164 for eight.
Tom Lungley took three for 19 for the visitors but he was outshone by Hodge, who ensured the Phantoms never got near their target.
Worse news followed for Derbyshire as they learnt James Bryant had broken his collarbone when taking the catch to dismiss Stuart Law.
Owais Shah hit an unbeaten 59 to steer Middlesex to a six-wicket victory over winless Kent at Uxbridge.
Shah hit six fours and two sixes in a 38-ball knock that got the Crusaders home with 2.4 overs to spare. Captain Ben Hutton was also not out on 28 at the end.
Chris Peploe had earlier helped restrict the Spitfires to 144 for eight by taking three for 35. Jamie Dalrymple claimed two for 26 but Simon Cook at least ensured the innings finished with a flourish with 33 from 17 balls.
Somerset ended Northamptonshire’s 100% record in the competition with a five-wicket win in a game reduced to 12 overs per side at Wantage Road.
Keith Parsons (32 not out) and Graeme Smith (31) were the key performers as the Sabres claimed a last-over win.
David Sales and Ben Phillips both hit 24 in the Steelbacks’ 95 for six.
