Nottinghamshire v Yorkshire

Overseas batsman David Hussey smashed his maiden Twenty20 half-century for Nottinghamshire as the Outlaws secured their second comprehensive victory in the competition .

Almost 8,000 fans swept into Trent Bridge to watch the 28-year-old blast his way to 58 off 30 balls, with five fours and four sixes, as the home side posted a total of 195 for four.

Yorkshire's former Australian Test star Darren Lehmann hit 48 quick runs of his own but it was not enough to prevent Notts winning by 21 runs.

Notts opted to bat after winning the toss but suffered an immediate setback when Graeme Swann cut the second ball of the match to Richard Dawson at point.

But Stephen Fleming and Anurag Singh put on a spirited 75 for the second wicket in quick time to get the innings up and running, before both were dismissed for identical scores of 35 in the 10th over to the off-spin of Dawson.

First right-hander Singh chipped a return catch, and two balls later Outlaws skipper Fleming got his reverse sweep all wrong and lifted the ball into the hands of Michael Lumb at short third man.

But their solid platform gave Australia A batsman Hussey and his England A partner Chris Read a launch-pad and the pair took it in spectacular fashion.

Hussey charged to his first 50 in the competition off 23 balls after smashing Dawson for two sixes and two fours and Read joined in the fun with some big hits of his own with an unbeaten 48 off 28 balls, including five fours and two sixes.

Yorkshire lost a wicket in their first over with Lumb caught behind off Mark Ealham, but Lehmann nonchalantly started firing boundaries to all areas of the ground to get the chase off to a great start.

The Notts bowlers seemed to lose their way after Singh was taken to hospital with a suspected dislocated shoulder and it took a slower ball from Gareth Clough to stem the tide of runs from Lehmann's bat.

That wicket put the brakes on Yorkshire's innings and skipper Craig White cracked under the pressure, sweeping Swann straight to substitute Josh Mierkalns for 41.

Yorkshire's batting got increasingly desperate, with Anthony McGrath and Andrew Gale both caught on the boundary, with Ealham wrapping up victory by bowling Gerard Brophy off the last ball.
