The Deccan Chargers, surprise winners of the 2009 tournament in South Africa will be looking to bounce back after crashing out of last years tournament in the semi finals.

The team has gone through a major transformation which saw skipper Adam Gilchrist dumped along with most of last years international players which lost out to the Chennai Super Kings.

New signing Kumar Sangakkara will take control of a team which includes the likes of Cameron White, Dale Steyn and surprise Aussie signing Dan Christian.

Despite signing Kevin Pietersen the franchise will be without the services of the Englishman after he underwent hernia surgery which also ruled him out of the World Cup.

With a suspect batting line up the Chargers strength lays in their bowling attack with spinners Amit Mishra and Pragyan Ojha spearheading the teams attack.

Sangakkara is also blessed in the pace department with Steyn, Ishant Sharma, Christian, Manpreet Gony and Harmeet Singh all likely to play a role in the Chargers line up during the tournament.

Key Player - Ishant Sharma, discarded by the Kolkata Knight Riders, Sharma was picked up by the Chargers for just $450,000 during January’s Player Auction.

If Sharma regains his form the Chargers will have the perfect player to partner Steyn with the new ball creating a fearsome opening attack.
