Shaun Pollock will step aside as captain of the Mumbai Indians for the remaining Indian Premier League matches after Sachin Tendulkar announced he was fit to make his debut in the competition.
Tendulkar was absent from Mumbai's first seven games in the league because of a groin injury he sustained during the series against Australia earlier this year.
Tendulkar, who missed the series against South Africa because of the injury, said he had fully recovered and would lead Mumbai against the Chennai Kings on Wednesday following a two-hour session in the nets on Monday.
Harbhajan Singh led Mumbai for the first three games, but after he was banned for an on-field row with Sreesanth, Pollock filled in as the stand-in captain.
