Deccan Chargers opening batsman Herschelle Gibbs is not quite relishing the prospect of facing his Proteas team mate Dale Steyn in the IPL clash against the Bangalore Royal Challengers at Newlands on Wednesday.
Gibbs was in impressive form in the Chargers' opening victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, hitting an unbeaten 43 off just 26 balls, but is wary of the "Phalaborwa Express".
"Dale is a world-class bowler. He's not on top of the world for nothing. He's got a lot of confidence and will surely run in on Wednesday.
"I hope Adam Gilchrist gets to face him most of the time," Gibbs added.
While Steyn does pose a serious threat to the Chargers batting line-up, the Challengers are not the only team with a pace spearhead.
The Chargers possess one of their own in West Indian star Fidel Edwards, who showed what he is capable of against the Knight Riders.
Edwards was consistently pushing the speed gun over 145km/h and also managed to move the ball both ways.
His figures of 0/6 in his four allotted overs were the most economical in IPL history.
"Fidel's got all the pace in the world. He really sets the tone up front for us," said Gibbs.
