Pakistan T20 captain Shahid Afridi isn't disappointed to miss out on the chance to play in next years IPL despite missing out on a lucrative contract for the second consecutive year.
Earlier this week IPL chairman Lalit Modi finally ruled out any chance of Pakistan's top cricketers taking part in next years event after the deadline to gain visas was missed.
"I mean it would have been good to make our IPL comeback next year but it is now clear that we won’t be able to do that. It’s like we can’t do anything about it." said Afridi.
Although Afridi wanted to take part in IPL 3.0 he did admit that the Pakistan players have been given a golden chance to prepare for their Twenty20 World Cup title defence in the West Indies in May. By missing out on IPL contracts Pakistan can hold a training camp in April.
"Now that it has been decided that we are not playing (in the IPL) we will have a perfect window to hold a proper camp and get ready for the Twenty20 World Cup." said Afridi.
