Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni has been ruled out of action for at least 10 days after picking up an elbow injury during his teams 55 run victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday night.
Dhoni, who scored 66 runs, was hit on the elbow by Shane Bond early in his innings. The wicketkeeper was clearly in pain but he carried on batting to help the Super Kings set the Knight Riders a target of 164 for victory.
The injury may force Dhoni to be out of action for up to ten days. During that time the Super Kings are set to play the Delhi DareDevils, Kings XI Punjab Sunday and the Bangalore Royal Challengers.
Dhoni will certainly miss the matches against the DareDevils and Kings XI but could be rested for a further two games ruling him out against the Royal Challengers and the Super Kings game against the Mumbai Indians.
While Dhoni is out of action Suresh Raina will stand in as skipper.
