Virat Kohli (24) and Robin Uthappa (68) enjoyed a partnership of 47 to help the Royal Challengers Bangalore set the Chennai Super Kings a target of 172 to chase for victory at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The pair came together in the 9th over with the Royal Challengers under pressure having only scored 63 runs after they had lost the wickets of Jacques Kallis (19), Manish Pandey (20) and Rahul Dravid (14).

Although the pair only hit 5 boundaries in their partnership they continued turning over the strike picking up singles to slowing increase the total before Kohli was stumped by Parthiv Patel just two ball after hitting Muttiah Muralitharan for a huge six over long on.

The Royal Challengers lost Eion Morgan (1) cheaply before Uthappa stole the show with a stunning over of brutal hitting smashing 24 runs off Lakshmipathy Balaji to rescue the home side.

Uthappa hit a boundary with the second ball of the over before smashing 3 consecutive sixes as the Royals Challengers raced past 150. More fireworks followed in the last over when Ravichandran Ashwin conceded 17 runs as the home reach 171-5 from their 20 overs.

Having been put into bat by the Super Kings, Kallis and Pandey got off to a slow start against the bowling of Albie Morkel who was causing all sorts of problems for the experienced openers.

After four marvellous unbeaten innings Kallis looked out of touch and was finally dismissed after an ill advised shuffle across the stumps to flick Balaji over the on side field only for the ball to knock the middle stump over.

Pandey and Dravid were dismissed cheaply as the Super Kings bowled well once again with Muralitharan the star man conceding only 25 runs from his four overs.
