Kings XI Punjab skipper Kumar Sangakkara has been given a one game ban and fined $50,000 after being found guilty of a slow over-rate for the third time.
Sangakkara was given the ban after his sides 39 rin defeat against the Kolkata Knight Riders which leaves the Kings XI routed to the bottom of the IPL group table with just 2 points.

"Since it was Kings XI Punjab's third offence of the season, under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, captain Kumar Sangakkara was fined $50,000 and each player in the team $20,000," a spokesman for the IPL governing council said.

"Sangakkara is also banned from playing in the team's next match, a clash against Mumbai Indians on 30 March," they added.

The Kings XI were assessed to have been one over behind the required rate for a third time during this years tournament meaning Sangakkara was hit with the ban.
