Jacques Kallis scored another half century for the Royal Challengers Bangalore to help set the Chennai Super Kings a target of 162 to snap their four game losing streak..
The Royal Challengers got off to a poor start losing Manish Pandey (5) in just the third over of the innings after he edged a short delivery from Thilan Thushara through to MS Dhoni.
Kallis and Robin Uthappa responded by building a partnership of 42 which included 19 runs of Manpreet Gony in the sixth over as Uthappa hit the young bowler for two huge sixes.
The partnership was broken by Shadab Jakati in the seventh who dismissed Uthappa (21) thanks to a catch by Gony at deep midwicket who made amends after dropping Uthappa in the third over.
After a scratchy start Kallis started to find some form as he scored another IPL half century as the Royal Challengers started to increase their run rate as they looked to attack the bowlers inside the last 5 overs.
The momentum was stopped however by Jakati who struck to remove Virat Kohli (34) before Kallis (52) was run out two balls later as the Royal Challengers slipped to 117-4.
With just over 4 overs left Kevin Pietersen (23) and Cameron White (21), both playing their first games for the visitors in this years tournament were left to carry the Royal Challengers past 150 setting the Super Kings a target of 162.
