The Rajasthan Royals slumped to a disappointing 132-9 despite a fine innings of 44 by Shane Watson at the top of the order as the Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers came out on top.
The Royals got to a very good start with Watson enjoying his role as opening having been moved up the order by Shane Warne to replace Michael Lumb who has struggled in his last couple of games.
Watson scored a rapid 26 ball 44 which included 7 fours and a six before he was bowled by Laxmi Shukla in the 7th over to leave the Royals 59-1. Naman Ojha (10) followed in the next over as the visitors started to wobble.
Big hitting Yusuf Pathan was the next to go as the wobble turned into a collapse after he was caught by a stunning catch by Sourav Ganguly having only scored 8 runs to reduce the Royals to 74-3.
Aaron Finch (21) and Adam Voges (8) offered some resistant’s with a 24 run partnership before another wobble saw the pair loss their wickets in the space of 6 balls.
The big innings of Watsons at the top or the order was now going to waste as Abhishek Raut (2) offered little in an innings that lasted balls.
Paras Dogra (8) was bowled by Murali Kartik before Shan Warne and Faiz Fazal added another 11 runs before Fazal (13) was run out. 6 more runs were added to the score from the final three balls of the innings to increase the total the Knight Riders need for victory to 133.
