Gavaskar dropped from IPL governing council

Former India test captain Sunil Gavaskar has been dropped from Indian Premier League governing council after it was reconstituted at the BCCI's AGM.
The governing council was reconstituted in order to remove suspended Indian Premier League commissioner Lalit Modi from his post in the council.

Gavaskar was one of three former India skippers in the council; the other two, Ravi Shastri and MAK Pataudi will keep their roles in the council.

The other new members include Chairman Chirayu Amin, Arun Jaitley, Rajiv Shukla, Ranjib Biswal and Anurag Thakur.
