The IPL governing council has handed Manish Pandey a four game suspension after the player was found guilty of violating the rules for uncapped Indian players.
The ruling means the 21-year old Karnataka batsman will miss the first four games for the Pune Warriors when the tournament gets under way in April.

The promising batsman, who played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore during the previous two tournaments, was found guilt of asking a franchise for more money then the Rs 20 lakh Indian uncapped players were entitled to.

As well as a 4 game ban Pandey was handed a Rs 5 lakh fine by the Governing Council.

Despite missing the first four games of this years tournament Pandey will feel relived after escaping so lightly when compared to Ravindra Jadeja who was banned for the entire length of last years event after being found guilty of a similar offense when playing for the Rajasthan Royals.
