Having hit rock bottom last season the Kings XI Punjab will be looking for a change in fortune after a mass clear out of the squad which performed so badly last year.
Big names players including Yuvraj Singh, Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara were all released by the franchise and replaced by a fresh squad of players.

With new skipper Adam Gilchrist leading the team the Kings XI will feel his leadership with help improve performances on the pitch in 2011.

Joining Gilchrist at the top of the order will be David Hussey, Dinesh Karthik, Shaun Marsh and Abhishek Nayar which will give the Kings XI a solid top order.

The franchises strength however will be in their bowling attack with the likes of Piyush Chawla, Ryan Harris, Praveen Kumar leading the way for the Kings XI.

The major weakness for the Kings XI will be there lack of depth in their squad; although they can field a strong starting XI any injuries will see the team weakened.

Key Player - Ryan Harris, if the Kings XI want to be contenders Harris will have to be at the top of his game throughout the tournament.

If the Aussies can remain fit and free on injury the fast bowler might be able to keep the franchise in contention toward the end of the group stages.
