Having been made Deccan Chargers skipper, Kumar Sangakkara is hopeful the 2009 IPL champions can once again challenge despite rebuilding their squad during the winter.
Having helped Sri Lanka reach the World Cup final, Sangakkara is looking forward to the new challenge he face in Hyderabad with the Chargers

"The expectations are pretty high. Coming in and starting to play cricket again after the World Cup is also a great feeling and hopefully as a franchise and as a team we can to do really well this year," said Sangakkara.

"You have to get on with the job and start playing and winning games," he added.

Despite the change in personnel Sangakkara believes the Chargers will be able to maintain a challenge during this years tournament.

"That's the way a lot of people have changed teams this year and I think I am very privileged to be here with Deccan Chargers, which is a great franchise. Deccan Chargers are a great team and have a great coach, I am looking forward to playing here."
