James Hopes scored a vital half century to help the Delhi DareDevils set the Royal Challengers Bangalore a victory target of 161 in a must win game for both sides at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.
Hopes (54) played a vital role for the DareDevils after the home sides top order failed to fire, the Aussie, who was caught off a no ball from Abhimanyu Mithun in 15th over smashed 7 fours during his 43 ball innings to help the home side reach 160-6.

Venugopal Rao (24) played another important innings but the middle order batsman will be disappointed after throwing away his wicket with a rash slog from a delivery from Daniel Vettori in the 16th over which hit his middle stump.

Despite Hopes recovery the Royals Challengers fought their way back into the game with the wickets of Hopes and Venugopal Rao but Naman Ojha (16) and Irfan Pathan (13) ensured the visitors would have a tricky run chase.

Having enjoyed an opening partnership of 146 against the Kings XI Punjab on Saturday night the DareDevils failed to replicate a similar start against the Royals Challengers after the subdued David Warner (7) was bowled by Zaheer Khan in the 5th over.

The visitors joy was increased two overs later when Virender Sehwag (25) was run out by AB de Villiers who whipped off the bails after some excellent fielding by Mithun at short fine leg to leave the DareDevils 43-2.

After the fireworks against the Kings XI the DareDevils top order failed to fire as Matthew Wades (8) return to the line up lasted 9 deliveries before he was bowled by Mithun.
