Kings XI Punjab skipper Adam Gilchrist has won the toss and elected to bowl first against the Deccan Chargers in a vital game for the home side at the MPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
Amazingly, having suffered a five game losing streak during the middle of the tournament the Kings XI still have a chance of securing a place in the play offs with a victory over the Chargers.

The home side have won their last three games including a dramatic 76 run victory over the Mumbai Indians and a 111 run victory over the Royal Challenger Bangalore to keep their hopes of a place in the play offs alive.

The Kings XI will be able to move above the Indians into 4th place with a victory tonight against the Chargers, a large win will see them leap frog the Kolkata Knight Riders into 3rd place thanks to a better run rate.

Should they move up to 3rd, the Knight Riders clash against the Indians on Sunday night will become a straight knock out with the loser missing out on a place in the play offs.

The Kings XI can still miss out if the match at Eden Gardens is washed out leaving the Knight Riders and Indians tied on 15 points, one more than the Kings XI.

The Chargers meanwhile will be looking to end a disappointing tournament with victory in their last game which will see them move above the Kochi Tuskers Kerala into 7th place.
