Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni was full of praise for his side after their stunning 6 wicket victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The defending champions booked their place in Saturday’s final thanks to Suresh Riana and Albie Morkel who unbelievably smashed 46 runs from just 18 balls to seal a dramatic victory with just two deliveries to spare.

The pair came together in the 17th over after Dhoni had been dismissed by Zaheer Khan; with a mountain to climb the pair smashed five sixes and a boundary to seal victory in dramatic fashion to stun the Royal Challengers.

"It was a difficult target, but we have been in similar situations, and we have the belief that we can win these games. We kept believing that we could do it, but you can say I was not 100% confident," said Dhoni after the game.

"We know as a team we have the firepower to chase anything. This was a good scenario where the set batsmen kept on going, and the others chipped around him," he added.

Royal Challengers skipper Daniel Vettori meanwhile was left to reflect on the missed chance his side had of reaching the final at the first attempt.

"You do get these games, you look back and say this is a great game of cricket," said Vettori.

"That innings from Suresh took it away. You can never think the game is in the bag with this size of boundaries. But we expect to bowl a little bit better than we did. We can focus on the loss, or look at the good things," he added.

"Unfortunately we didn’t defend it, but a few guys bowled well too."

The Royal Challengers will now face the winner of tonight’s eliminator between the Mumbai Indians and the Kolkata Knight Riders for a place in Saturdays final on Friday night at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
