Man of the match, Suresh Raina has admitted he was determined to lead the Chennai Super Kings to victory despite their precarious position against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The 24 year old smashed four boundaries and six sixes during his time at the crease, which saw him score 73 runs from 50 deliverers to help steer the Super Kings to a remarkable victory.
The defending champions were on the verge of a heavy defeat before Raina and Albie Morkel smashed 46 runs from just 18 balls to seal a dramatic victory with just two deliveries to spare.
"This one is my best [innings] because I was able to finish off the match. When you win a crucial match like a qualifier for the team, it gives you a lot more satisfaction," said Raina after the game.
"I wanted to chase this total down. The situation was tough but I just wanted to bat until the end. I had to take the initiative and go for my shots. I was determined to finish it."
"Badrinath played a remarkable innings and that partnership helped the team recover from the early blows. Dhoni came in and played some attacking shots and in the end Albie finished the game," added Raina.
"I told Albie that the wicket is very good to bat on and to try to play straight by giving the right treatment to the loose balls and he did just that."
