The Chennai Super Kings have strengthened their position at the top of the cricket20 power rankings after claiming their second Indian Premier League title at the weekend.
The Super Kings became the first team to win back to back IPL titlse after their comprehensive 58 run victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Murali Vijay led the way with a man of the match performance with the bat, scoring 95 runs to help the Super Kings reach 205-5 after MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first.

Despite suffering a heavy defeat the Royal Challengers move up into second place just ahead of the Mumbai Indians who end the tournament as the third best team in the world.

Just behind the trio of IPL franchises are the West End Redbacks who won the KFC Big Bash in January, the Redbacks will take part in Septembers t20 Champions League before the team is replaced by the new Big Bash league franchise the Adelaide Strikers.

Rounding out the top five are the Hampshire Royals who get their Friends Life t20 title defence under way tonight against the Somerset Sabres at the Rose Bowl in a rematch of last years dramatic final.
