Superb Royals crush the inept Knight Riders

The Rajasthan Royals made it two wins out of two to start this years tournament in impressive fashion thanks to a 22 run victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Having been set a victory target of 165, the Knight Riders were reduced to just 8-3 after an extraordinary passage of play which saw them loss three wickets in the space pf three deliveries.

Amit Singh (2-30) picked up the wickets of Jacques Kallis (5) and Gautam Gambhir (0) before Ankeet Chavan (2-23) removed Brendon McCullum (2) with the first delivery of the 3rd over to leave the visitors in deep trouble.

Manoj Tiwary (59) offered some resistant’s but with wickets falling at regular intervals the Knight Riders stuttered to defeat against an impressive looking Royals line up.

Despite the early loss of Ajinkya Rahane (0) the home side never looked in trouble once Brad Hodge (44) and Ashok Menaria (40) had helped the Royals record a total of 164-5 which proved to much for Gambhir’s side to chase down.
