The Chennai Super Kings pulled off an amazing run chase to seal a five wicket victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore in a high scoring shoot out at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Faced with a victory target of 206, the Super Kings looked dead and buried but an unbelievable seven balls innings from Albie Morkel brought the champions back into the game.
The South African smashed 28 runs during the penultimate over to set up a wild final over which saw Vinay Kumar dismiss Morkel before bowling a no ball and conceding a boundary off the final ball of the game to spark wild celebrations in the home dug out.
While the Super Kings celebrate the Royal Challengers will be left to rule the closing stages of their innings which saw them lose five wickets in the space of seven deliveries to slip from 198-3 to 199-8.
Dougie Bollinger caused the most damage picking up three wickets in the final over to deny the Royal Challengers an even bigger score and in the end keep the game close during the final three overs.
