Brad Hodge smashed 48 runs off just 21 balls to help the Rajasthan Royals seal a five wicket victory over the winless Deccan chargers at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Faced with a victory target of 197, the Royals had reached 135-3 in the 16th over before Hodge smashed six boundaries and two sixes to seal victory with just two balls to spare.
The win sees the royals move to the top of the ipl group standings thanks to their 4th win of the tournament while the Chargers remain stranded at the bottom of the standings after losing their first three games.
The day started off well for the chargers thanks in part to Shikhar Dhawan who scored a half century to help the visitors post a total of 196-2 from their 20 overs.
Kumar Sangakkara added a quick fire 44 but it proved to be in vain as after the Chargers lost their third straight games to remain rooted to the bottom of the group standings.
