The Chennai Super Kings increased their chances of reaching the IPL play offs thanks to a 10 run victory over the Deccan Chargers at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The defending champions successfully defended a total of 160-6 despite a fine innings from Cameron White who smashed 77 runs from 53 balls which included nine boundaries and two sixes.
The victory see’s the Super Kings move up into fourth place with 11 points, although they have played one more game then the teams around as the group stages slowly reach a climatic conclusion over the next two weeks.
Shikhar Dhawan (36) and Daniel Christian (28) offered White support but with Parthiv Patel (1) and Kumar Sangakkara (1) both going cheaply the Chargers slumped to their seventh defeat.
Faf de Plessis continued his fine run of form with the bat for the Super Kings with a quick fire 42 before MS Dhoni (34) and Suresh Raina (32) ensured the Chargers would face a difficult run chase.
