Albie Morkel pulled off another amazing comeback to help the Chennai Super Kings record a thrilling four wickets victory over the Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
The Super Kings looked on course for defeat having slumped to just 84-6 in the 17th over but Morkel smashed 18 runs from just 6 deliveries which included one boundary and two sixes to seal victory with 11 balls to spare.
Srikkanth Anirudha (18) followed the South Africans lead with a quick fire 18 from 6 balls to help the defending champions stay in the hunt for a place in the IPL playoffs after they recorded their 6th victory of the tournament.
Up until Morkel and Anirudha’s intervention the Royals were in total control of the game thanks to some impressive bowling from Shaun Tait (0-8) and Johan Botha (2-18).
Having batted first the home side recorded a total of 126-6 thanks in part to quick fire 33 from Brad Hodge which looked to have help the Royals recorded 7th victory until the game was turned on its head in the final few overs.
